Details about the next meeting of the Community Council will be published here soon
The Community Council serves the communities of Penmachno and Cwm Penmachno, a rural area within the upper reaches of the Conwy valley where the slate industry was very important at one time. According to the 2011 census, the population of Bro Machno was 617, about a third of what it was towards the end of the nineteenth century. Penmachno Parish Council was established in 1894 and, contrary to the general practice of that era, conducted its business through the medium of Welsh from the start. Following local government re-organisation in 1974, Bro Machno Community Council came into being.
